Blast Friday

Event RECAP:

Downtown Clearwater’s Free, Family-friendly street festival

400 Block of Cleveland Street at Osceola Avenue

5:30PM-10PM

The event featured live music from Mark Farner w/ Stormbringer, a variety of vendors, as well as food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. District retailers and restaurants were open during BLAST Friday with outdoor dining on Cleveland Street.

Happy hour specials included: $3 wines, wells, and bottles, $4 calls, all drafts for only $2 and PBR Cans $1

Laughs & Draughts Comedy and Beer Tasting

Headlining comedian:  Shawn Wayans

Line-up also included: Julian McCullough and Boomer Nichols

Event Details:
Doors Opened at 6:00 PM
Beer Tasting was from 6:00-8:00 PM
Comedy Show was 8:30-10:15 PM
This event was for people 21 and over, and ID’s were checked at the door.

The Laughs & Draughts show had to be moved indoors because of the day’s storms and conditions at Coachman Park. The Fun ‘n Sun Clearwater comedy and beer tasting that was scheduled for Sat 5/3 in Coachman Park was moved to the Capitol Beer House in Downtown Clearwater (422 Cleveland Street, Clearwater, FL 33755). Those who purchased tickets were refunded the ticket price. Attendees were encouraged to bring their tickets though in order to still be given 4 tickets for the Cigar City Beer samples. There was no cover charge, and attendance was on a first-come, first-serve basis until the venue reached capacity.

The following Craft Beers from Cigar City Brewing were featured: Jai Alai, Cracker, Invasion, Maduro, Hard Cider, Homemade Apple Pie Cider, Tocabaga, Hopped on High Seas Calypso, Stiftung Berliner, Puppys Breath, Tropical Heatwave, Good Morning Mekong… plus a few more.

Fun ‘n Sun Firework Finale

The Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival was a nightly sunset celebration that
took place in Pier 60 Park
on Clearwater Beach, Florida. This free
family event featured artisans, crafters, street performers
and
musical entertainment.

Movie began at: Dusk

Firework Show: took place at intermission

People brought their families, blankets, and low sitting chairs out to Clearwater’s Pier 60 for a free film screening
every Friday and Saturday. The move was broadcast on a jumbo screen, and popcorn and soft drinks were available.
